Every Indian government exam, passport application, and job form has a different photo size requirement. NEET wants 3.5×4.5 cm at 10–200 KB. JEE wants the same dimensions but only 10–40 KB. RRB wants 100×120 pixels at 20–40 KB. Getting this wrong gets your application rejected.

PhotoFit resizes your photo to exact pixel dimensions and exact KB size — free, in your browser, in under 10 seconds. No app, no signup, no watermark.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between resizing by pixels and by KB?

Resizing by pixels changes the physical dimensions of the image (width × height). Resizing by KB changes the file size — how much storage space the file takes. You often need to do both: resize to the correct pixel dimensions AND compress to fit within the KB limit. PhotoFit handles both in one tool.

Will resizing reduce photo quality?

Making an image smaller (fewer pixels) reduces detail but keeps quality proportional. Compressing to a lower KB does reduce quality slightly, but at reasonable sizes (above 30 KB) the human face in a portrait photo remains sharp and clearly identifiable. PhotoFit never compresses more than needed.

How do I know the correct size for my exam?

Each exam portal publishes photo requirements in its notification PDF. Common sizes: NEET/JEE/most Indian exams use 3.5×4.5 cm (413×531 px); UPSC uses 300×300 px; RRB uses 100×120 px. If unsure, check the specific notification or use PhotoFit's exam selector which pre-fills the correct dimensions.

Can I resize multiple photos at once?

Currently PhotoFit processes one photo at a time. This is ideal for exam applications where you typically need one specific photo that meets strict requirements. Bulk resizing for product photos or large batches is not currently supported.

Does resizing a photo change its format (JPG/PNG)?

No — PhotoFit downloads the resized photo in the same format you uploaded, or converts it to JPEG which is the most widely accepted format for Indian government portals. You can specify the output format in settings.
